Perspiration Cleaning Guide

Perspiration is difficult to remove. For example collars of shirts can be difficult to fully remove perspiration even when the shirt is washed after each wear! When it comes to perspiration on our Barmah Hats we recommend regular light cleaning of the affected area to prevent build up.

Cleaning Guide

  1. Use a mild detergent on the affected area. Use your hands to gently agitate the detergent for a couple minutes.

  2. Flush with clean water when finished to rinse out the detergent.

  3. Allow the hat to dry in the shade (not in direct sunlight). We recommend letting the hat lie flat or stretching the hat over an upturned bowl to encourage the hat to retain its shape.

  4. Use Barmah Leather Conditioner (or suede conditioner depending on the material) to replace the leathers natural oils which will help the hat maintain its natural shape.

  5. Perform regular maintenance. Regularly clean your Barmah Hat. Use Leather conditioner (or suede conditioner) regularly to maintain the leathers natural oil content.
