What is Leather Bloom?
Leather Bloom is usually a white waxy mark that appears cosmetically on the outside of leather. Leather Bloom only affects the appearance of the leather rather than its substance.
Bloom is a feature that appears cosmetically on the outside of leather, it shows that the leather in your hat has been manufactured with waxes & oils which are needed help to preserve your hat from drying over time.
Why Does this Happen?
Leather bloom occurs when the leather experiences significant temperature change or humidity.
Leather bloom is not mould!
Leather Bloom is often confused with mould but is actually the waxes and oils naturally rising to the surface of the leather.
How Can I Fix It?
Use a soft cloth or brush to gently wipe the bloom affected areas.
We also recommend using Barmah Leather Conditioner or similar product to help maintain the leather of your Barmah Hat.
